About Robert Louis Stevenson

Born Robert Lewis Balfour in Edinburgh, Scotland, Stevenson was a skilled and successful writer of adventure novels and travel writing. Treasure Island, his first success, was first published serially in Young Folks, one of the "boys' magazines" of his day, and much of his later writing was published in Scribner's.
